“CHEAPER
BY THE DOZEN”
By Frank Gilbreth,
Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey
Directed by Judy Hendrix
“Cheaper By The Dozen” is a
play based on a novel by the same name and written by Ernestine and Frank Gilbreth. It is the true life story of a couple who
were world famous time efficiency experts who also had twelve children! The
play is filled with laughter provided by the antics of these lively children.
Sprinkled through this are poignant moments when the family members and the
audience discover what is really important in life. This is a delightful comedy
for the whole family to enjoy.
Wow! What a fantastic cast I have assembled from all
the talented people who auditioned. The Gilbreth children will be played by Connie Stumpf, Melissa Newsome,Candice Baker, Josh Perry,
Joshua Adams, Micaela Baca, Patrick Quinn, Christian
Koch, and Jolene George. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbreth,
are portrayed by Norm Boynton and Vivian Decker. The family housekeeper is Kyla Applegate who is also supporting me as assistant
director and stage manager. The two
boyfriends are played by Keath Worley and William Guilian. The snooty school examiner is being portrayed by
Kathy Fox. Kathy
stepped into this role just before Christmas when a cast member
could no longer do the role. She has latched on to the role with aplomb and
will delight the audience with her fantastic portrayal. All the actors have
developed their characters and I’m now adding the final touches to their roles.
I am so pleased.
Mark your
calendars for membership night, January 21st. The show runs January 24th
through February 8th. This is a show the entire family will
enjoy immensely.
